Jackson Beck plays the part of U.S. able seaman Fred Herman who wrote a book called Dynamite Cargo.
Most of what you will hear was written as notes aboard the British cruiser Scylla in the Arctic Ocean. Herman tells the story of how he came to be huddled below decks with three hundred other shipwrecked sailors and refugees while the enemy Nazi torpedo bombers fire on them relentlessly.
